Firefighter Water Wars Rules

1. Firefighter Water Wars

 a. Maximum number of competitors shall be two

 b. Nozzle pressure shall be 90 P.S.I.

 c. Time limit shall be three (3) minutes.

2. Mandatory Clothing shall consist of:

 a. NFPA compliant bunker style pants, coat and boots.

 b. Helmets

 c. Gloves shall be optional

3. Equipment shall consist of:

a. 200ft 1 3/4" hose

b. 100' 3" supply line

c. 1-gated wye 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"

d. 2=1 1/2" nozzles

 e. A ball with a minimum diameter of 15"

f. Cable of 3/8" diameter steel

4. The cable shall be strung as follows:

a. 10 ft. from the ground to the center

b. 110ft between the posts

5. The winner of each heat shall advance to the next round

6. The final round shall be the best two out of three

7. The heat is won by advancing the ball against the stops in the opponent's territory. (This can also be based on time, IE: time ball is over opponents line)

8. In the event of time expiring the winner shall be the team who has the ball in the opponent's territory when the whistle sounds

9. The team may stand any distance behind the starting line at the beginning of the heat

10. The nozzle individual cross streams over the ball before the signal to start is given

11. After the signal to start, the teams may maneuver any place on the playing area

12. Team members may change positions at any time during the competition. 

13. Disqualification shall occur if:

a. The coach comes in contact with any player, the hose or the nozzle until after the final whistle is sounded

b. The hose stream is directed at the opposing team

c. The nozzle is dropped or thrown to the ground during the competition

d. In the opinion of the judges, the nozzle person loses control of the nozzle

e. There is any interference by a spectator

f. Only the team captain shall converse with the judges in the event of a dispute
